To support that challenge, the SD Portfolio Optimization & OpEx Group is currently seeking a Transformation Communications Manager, to be located Durham, NC. As the Transformation Communications Manager, you will work closely with teams inside and outside of Seeds R&D to lead and support the communications, change and culture initiatives driving transformation.

 

Role Purpose

    As the Transformation Communications Manager, you will work closely with teams in Seeds R&D to lead and support the communications, change and culture initiatives driving transformation. This individual will establish network of communication and will continuously build collaboration to facilitate smooth interfaces between all groups involved in transformation messaging and delivery. The Transformation Communications Manager has a solid understanding of the Seeds R&D vision, strategy, and business objectives, as well as the Syngenta Seeds global narrative. This role seeks out and delivers engaging content e.g. partnering with scientists/project teams to showcase ‘strategy in action’ and celebrate R&D progress in our transformation efforts.

Accountabilities

    Support Seeds Development Leadership in developing strategic messaging around our transformation that demonstrates leadership in agriculture innovation and technology Translate transformation roadmaps into consumable content that enables productive change mindsets in the organization, contextualizing impacts for multiple functions and layers of the organization Support leadership connecting the larger change message across internal transformation efforts, including organization transformation, agile & culture transformation, pipeline transformation and digital transformation Conceptualize and develop impactful innovation-related content and resources to be deployed across internal Seeds R&D channels, demonstrating how our transformation is bringing the R&D strategy to life Obtain a deep understanding of the germplasm development pipeline and operations to translate complex change information into simple, polished, and engaging content for Seeds R&D print, audio, video, live Meet with subject matter experts in order to ensure that specialized topics are appropriately represented in transformational messaging Coordinate with the global communications team and act as a connection between R&D and the corporate storytelling Execute of global Seeds Development events townhalls, leader engagements, transformational training Ensure robust metrics for comms deliverables to support ‘listen and analyze’ activities  Drive consistency in messaging and practice


Requirements

    Bachelor’s or Master’ s degree in communication or related discipline Experience in communications within a science-driven environment and being able to communicate complex scientific issues in an understandable way Significant professional experience with integrated strategic communications, and channel management, and change management Ability to develop and implement communications strategies to address transformational initiatives, business challenges and to engage diverse, global stakeholder groups Ability to build rapport, trust and credibility with leaders, key stakeholders and other communicators Experience within a global business and working within a matrix and in cross-functional / cross-cultural teams Able to deliver under pressure while working through ambiguous projects Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines

Preferred Requirements

    Technical writing and editing experienced Experience as a trusted partner to senior leaders of a company Social media savvy, specifically in corporate channels Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics Works well under pressure
