System Operations Specialist

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, System Operations Specialist, are to: 

• Assist with implementing system enhancements across platforms;
• Create reports and help facilitate conversations pertaining to various IT systems;
• Maintain organizational SharePoints or similar web-based collaborative platform;
• Train and provide technical support on such platforms for various users and stakeholders;
• Utilize various databases/systems to help input data and create reports based on updated information in applicable systems;
• Work across all stakeholders to identify system enhancement;
• Work with IT support to troubleshoot and resolve system issues;
• Perform electronic system development & lifecycle activities;
• Perform IT system related activities for Seeds and Traits personnel and facilitate discussion between business users and Bayer IT;
• Identify business user’s needs and provide guidance on the available electronic systems to accomplish users needs;
• Comply with all organizational e-systems-related policies and procedures;
• Participate in e-systems policy/procedure development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline, with at least 10 years of relevant experience or Master of Science with at least four years of relevant experience;
• Excellent electronic systems and technical skills;
• Experience building and utilizing data bases and web-based collaborative platforms;
• Organization and time management abilities;
• Accuracy and attention to detail;
• Proficiency in typing and transcribing data;
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective problem solving and coordination of information;
• Ability to demonstrate agility and positive results-orientation while working in a dynamic and changing environment;
• Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, verbal and written communication skills.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar field,
• Several years of experience with visualization and programing tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, and Python
