YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Statistical Scientist Intern, are to:

 

  • Provide technical contributions in a team environment to accelerate our efforts on building an analytics-driven product pipeline;
  • Use statistical models, and genetic models to deliver insights, recommendations and solutions;
  • Assess needs and recommend experiments, data, and projects, suggest new algorithmic development, drive tactical decisions about approaches and needed data;
  • Develop sustainable, consumable, accurate, and impactful reporting on model inputs, model outputs, observed outputs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Present compelling, validated stories to team members and stakeholders throughout and at the completion of the internship.

your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values. more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, or related STEM field;
  • Expertise in wide range of statistical techniques including, but not limited to general and generalized linear mixed models, non-linear mixed models, multivariate statistics, non-parametric analysis, and Bayesian statistics;
  • Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in computational skills and an intermediate level of experience processing data, conducting statistical analysis, and visualizing results in R and python;
  • Strong communication competencies to include presentations and delivery of complex quantitative analyses in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to extended team and small groups of key stakeholders.
