YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Soy Product Design Grain Quality Enhancement Co-op is a scientist within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the identification of novel sources of variation and genomic regions associated with soybean grain quality enhancement.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Soy Product Design Grain Quality Enhancement Co-op, are to:

 

  • Execute an extensive literature review on grain quality traits in soybean according in alignment with the regional strategy;
  • Leverage Global germplasm collections and experimental design strategies to enhance grain quality in our germplasm according to the Soybean Product Design strategy;
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with Product Design, Product Development, data science, intellectual property, and regulatory;
  • Ensure meaningful knowledge and data transfer during the Co-Op time;
  • Identify key areas of opportunity for new technology implementation and/or process improvement;
  • Support the Health Safety & Environment, Compliance, Business Conduct and Human Rights policies and culture.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values. more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. degree with a focus in Plant Breeding, Animal Breeding, Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Plant Sciences;
  • Demonstrated experience of breeding, genetics, QTL mapping, GWAS, Genomic Selection, and ability to perform data analysis with large biological datasets in R and/or Python;
  • Results orientation and familiarity working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals.
