Software Eng II- Virtual Reality 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Software Engineer II- Virtual Reality , are to:

 

  • Work with stakeholders from various business units to identify high-value opportunities where virtual or augmented reality can make an appreciable difference to the business; 
  • Develop custom applications to address business needs and solve challenges, this includes environment creation, object design and creation, texturing, substance design, UX, coding and scripting; 
  • Be an advocate for these technologies and always focus on showing business value; 
  • Maintain software development best practices including testing, version control, secure coding practices, etc.; 
  • Partner with other teams developing VR/AR projects to guide their efforts and bring cohesion to Bayer Crop Science’s overall VR/AR strategy.  
  • Estimate implementation effort and perform feasibility checks of requirements;
  • Protect operations by keeping information confidential.

WHO YOU ARE

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Education University degree (Bachelor or Master) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline working experience; 
  • Experience building 3D environments, games and/or experiences with Unity and Unreal Engine;
  • Experience with 3D modeling using tools such as Blender, 3ds Max and MODO; 
  • C# experience; 
  • Experience designing core game mechanics/interactions; 
  • Experience with Visual Studio and GitHub;   
  • Preferred Qualifications: 

      

  • At least two years of experience in materials rendering and substance tools; 
  • Experience with UI/UX best practices. 
  • Ability to perform business domain analysis and business process modelling Personal;
  • Problem-solving skills, Analytical thinking skills, Attention to detail,Teamwork, Verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to challenge and convince the various stakeholders involved in any project.

 

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $95,000 (or between $85,000 to $105,000).  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
