To support that challenge, the Small Seeded Vegetable Production Team is currently seeking a Seed Production Agronomist in Woodland, California.  •    In collaboration with breeding R&D and Production and Supply to evaluate and improve producibility assessment of inbred lines early during hybrid advancement. To succeed in this endeavor the candidate will have to build a strong working relationship with R&D as well as with production teams in different countries.  •    To identify seed production bottle necks and challenges and translate them into research projects leading to improved crop management and production protocols.  •    To actively scout for breakthrough production technologies leading to process simplification, lower costs, superior seed quality, yield improvement and stability.  •    To develop the knowledge and the best practices for seed production at the field for the improvement of the production process & product quality, that allow the seed business the best end to end operation efficiency, the best resources utilization, the COGP reduction and gross profit. •    To provide and share the technical expertise in the key topics of data development, data analysis, reports and recommendations to reach seed production excellence within a crop region and global context. •    To lead the field operations to implement the globally or regionally harmonized Trial Protocols, and the third party contractors, that supports the field and laboratory research findings that bring benefit. Accountabilities   •    To develop and keep a cross functional and assertive communication with stakeholders and peers, which includes among others Breeding, Biological Assessment, Field Production, Parent Seed Production, Seed Processing FPP, Direct Procurement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Seed Care. This also includes contacts with relevant authorities and industry associations.  •    To take the initiative on the inbred lines or varieties characterization and set of trials to get relevant information for the advancement of a product in its commercial life cycle ex. HPC •    To be open to evaluate alternative production methods for products with high commercial potential, when their inbred lines or varieties have adaptation problems at the actual production zones. •    To be in compliance following all the internal policies, processes and procedures when negotiating contracts and hiring/purchasing third party services or goods, assisted by Indirect Procurement and legal area. •    To assist your Field Production regional lead and FP Team in analyzing data, presenting reports, preparing presentations, coordinating recipe discussion meetings, in a friendly and simple way, always supported by hard data from the trials executed during the growing cycles at the growing zones of the crop or region. •    To present the agronomic information generated to key stakeholders. This information could be presented through diverse ways, formal and informal, with the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audience. •    Focus on field production improvement research •    Define with OU/SPS and FP project priorities  •    Project list management and storage •    Responsible for project management, coordination, trials design and execution. •     Identification and testing of new technologies  •    Line characterization for agreed crops and regions according to business needs
