INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY –  Seed Procurement EMEA internship

The scope of work:

  • Support in building a benchmark matrix comparing internal (Pioneer plants) and external (3rd party mnfg) cost related to seed production and conditioning, providing cost analysis at production step level and per country.

Expected benefit:

  • Building a better preparation ground for the negotiations with 3rd party, understanding how the costs are split and comparing them with internal Pioneer plant cost.
  • Creating a should cost model enabling to understand how different variables can impact supplier costs (volumes, energy, logistics, ect…) 

Project steps:

  • Collaborating with controllership to understand how costs are split in each Pioneer plants (financial reports are existing today but it needs to be simplified). 
  • Collaborating with Pioneer plants to understand how those costs can be affected by external factors (eg: if volumes increase by xxx which portion of the fix cost is going to decrease).
  • Collect from existing contract cost we are paying today (pricing mechanism are built differently in the different contract so a thorough analysis will be needed).

Qualifications


You will need:

  • Basic understanding of plant breeding and genetics.
  • Good computer skills, willingness to learn new programs, and interest in solving problems with data.
  • Ability to communicate in English would be appreciated.
  • Team spirit as well as the ability to independently complete your work assignments.
