YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Scientist I - Fate & Metabolism, are to:

 

  • Perform, or assist in performing laboratory-based studies and/or field testing to determine the behavior of BCS products in crops, soils, water or animal matrices in full compliance with GLP standards;
  • Act as Principal Investigator or Study Director for GLP studies, and ensure all tasks associated with the study and field phase are compliant. Understand the appropriate chemistry guidelines at a working knowledge to support international product registrations and prepare study protocols that meet these requirements;
  • Solve day to day problems in study conduct thereby ensuring that studies progress to required deadlines;
  • Evaluate data and prepares reports for submission to regulatory authorities ensuring that the study meets the required business objective. Tailors reports to address regulatory concerns and communicates with members of the appropriate project/asset teams to ensure that work in progress remains aligned with the regulatory strategy;
  • Solve analytical and equipment problems in the laboratory environment;
  • Solve study problems with the in-life phases of field studies. Seek expertise and state of the art techniques from within and outside the company to facilitate problem resolution, when necessary;
  • Follow company compliance programs, and fully observe all workplace safety regulations.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values. more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Bacherlor of Science with at least 6 years of experience, or Master of Science with at least 3 years of experience, or Ph.D., experience must be in Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Metabolomics, or related field;
  • Conduct complex scientific projects, and can prioritize tasks in a frequently changing environment;
  • Have working knowledge of global regulatory processes and guidelines for crop protection chemicals, and experience working under EPA and/or OECD;
  • Possess good Laboratory Practices regulations;
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment leading to constructive interactions, and ability to guide junior team members to conduct study activities.
