SAFETY MANAGER Reports to: Plant Manager Exempt Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The function of the Safety Manager is to anage the Safety Progrm at the assigned Seneca Foods location. Responsibilities include: employee safety training, frequent auditing of the facility, maintaining policies and ensuring completion of essential safety documentation, and managing the Safety Committee.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, OR JOB DUTIES: Employee Safety Training Policy Enforcement/Auditing Incident Investigations Oversee Safety Committee Data Tracking/Policy Revisions
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Job duties will be tailored to fit Company Safety needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of OSHA General Industry standards and ability to enforce current company Safety policies. Must have excellent oral and written communications, intrepseronal, judgement, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand the machines and equipment used in the industry.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar, closely-related degree. On-the-job experience and professional certifications may be substituted.
EXPERIENCE: General Industry Safety-Related Experience 2+ years.
