To support that challenge, the Production & Supply P&S team is currently seeking a Risk and Sustainability Manager at our Greensboro, NC location.

 

The Risk and Sustainability Manager is responsible for maintaining a high level of culture that delivers an Enterprise understanding of risk and sustainability in the agriculture business:

    Training sites, functions and leaders on techniques, methodologies, procedures & processes while improving when applicable evolution Coordinating with other functions, regions and globally on initiatives, best practices Leading development of management capabilities within the region to ensure sustainable excellence Providing expert risk and sustainability capabilities at a regional level by leveraging new developments inside and outside of the agriculture business and interpreting their applicability to Syngenta

Accountabilities

    Cross functional understanding and ownership of exposure and actions Increased visibility of risks and gaps Risk and Sustainability Culture Shifts - 

    Provide risk management expertise for North America Production & Supply P&S and partner with leaders to successfully deliver risk management programs, projects, workshops and events

Sustainable Operations -

Be an ambassador and role-model for Syngenta P&S Sustainability Effectively collaborate with regional and global P&S functions, sustainability teams, and sustainable operations, functional CoEs, and Continuous Improvement

 


Requirements

    Degree in Business or Science; Economics or Supply Chain preferred Minimum 3-5 years of experience in risk management and sustainability in any of the following areas: Supply Chain, HSEQ, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Processing, Marketing, Planning, Procurement or Customer Services Experience in leadership in driving change and continuous improvement Ability and willingness to challenge key stakeholders and to gain their buy-in to support culture changes Ability to influence people across the organization to positively support risk and sustainability Experience of working with cross functional teams Strong self-awareness with ability to interact with a diverse culture Strong influencing and change management capability Cross-functional understanding and ability to understand the bigger picture Ability to coach and to communicate across hierarchical levels Establishing credibility and trust with relevant production & supply functions Strong ability to think and act independently to influence in the face of potential opposition and to be confident to consult different levels of stakeholders Ability to facilitate workshops or meetings Strong influencer with ability to motivate people and gain support

Preferred Requirements

    Good end-to-end supply chain understanding in Agro-business or closely related industry is an advantage Good understanding of continuous improvement principles is a plus Pro-active team player / knowledge sharer / open and transparent Effective communicator with excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills Ability to develop network across organization Stays calm under pressure and is able to handle conflict constructively Balances innovation and creative thinking with the ability to effectively drive results Constant learner with high level of self-awareness Good skills in using Microsoft Office PowerPoint, excel, etc. and channels such as, SharePoint and Yammer Knowledge and experience of applying Risk Management into business cycles Understanding of ISO or equivalent in Risk Management Understanding of Supply Chain Processes Knowledge and experience in Agrochemical / Pharmaceutical and/or Seeds industry preferred
