Description


Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate based in Moorhead, MN. The Research Associate position will serve as an integral team member of a comprehensive research station providing support for all station operations. You must have knowledge or experience about the agriculture industry and high aptitude for attention to detail.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

  • Support the Moorhead Research Center operations with multi crop seed filling and preparation, planting, data collection, inventory, and harvest. 

  • Operate planting, harvest and spray equipment as well as specialized remote sensing equipment. 

  • Agronomic knowledge of weed control and plot maintenance.

  • Support biotech trait agronomic and efficacy trials with an emphasis on seed treatment, biologicals, and crop protection trials.

  • Collect data and assess data quality.  Drone operation or drone data analysis.

  • Assist with experiment planning and mapping.

  • Assist with phytosanitary inspections.

  • Participate in seed treating needs for summer and winter nursery experiments.

  • Supervise short-term part-time employee crews to complete field activities according to protocols, accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications


Qualifications - What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience.

  • Knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design.

  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork, enhance a positive work environment, and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.

  • Strong experience and skills with computers and data management.

  • Strong aptitude to operate planting and harvest equipment including electronics, GPS systems and data collection systems.

  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and time management.

  • Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification.

  • Ability to obtain part 107 sUAS (drone) remote pilot license.
