Corteva Agriscience is a leader in delivering novel and sustainable solutions for the future of agriculture. The Input Trait Discovery group combines activity-based and genomic discovery, protein characterization and optimization to deliver novel insect control traits. We are seeking a Research Associate candidate who has a passion for insects and laboratory-based insect bioassay work to support the next generation insect control trait development effort by the input trait discovery group.
  
Responsibilities - How you help us grow:

  • Perform insect eggs / larvae staging processes following a stablished protocol

  • Plan and conduct insect bioassays according to protocol

  • Monitor bioassay quality to ensure data consistency and accuracy

  • Maintain accurate and thorough records in data management system

  • Develop and optimize insect bioassays processes and write new protocols

  • Actively participate in all IAS high throughput screening work

  • Ability to work with liquid handling robotics and eager to learn new automation system

  • Able to work independently as well as in collaboration with team members and cross functional groups.  

  • Ability to communicate with impact. Written and verbal communication of plans, procedures, and results with team members and cross functional working groups.

Qualifications


Job Qualification - What you will bring:

  • Candidates should have a BS degree in Biology, Entomology, Microbiology, or a related field with 2+ years of laboratory experience.

  • Experience in laboratory settings, greenhouse or field work may qualify in lieu of educational degrees.   

  • Experience in insect eggs and larval handling.

  • Previous experience on southern green stink bug (SGSB) or brown stink bug eggs handling, and rearing is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with high-throughput insect bioassay system is a plus.

  • Experience in microbiological work.

  • Familiarity with laboratory automation and a desire to explore and learn more.
