This position will function as the safety contact for the station. The majority of the position will focus on managing the safety standards and policies for the site. The rest of the time will be helping with the day to day activities at the site as needed during peak times. 

Main Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

  • Lead in site safety culture and ensure implementation and adherence to safety standards, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Always Uphold Corteva Agriscience Core Values.
  • Monitor all activities; provide guidance and assistance as needed and complete reports as requested by Corteva.
  • Train all employees and contract workers on company standards or safety practices.'
  • Comprehensive hazard and risk identification and assessments.
  • Complete all weekly, monthly, yearly inspections of safety equipment.
  • Conduct self assessments on the implemented Corteva standards.
  • Lead internal audits from corporate.
  • Ensure that proper records are kept.
  • Create accident/injury reports.
  • Other responsibilities during peak time
  • You will be involved in some phases of planting, phenotyping, and harvesting research materials to meet pre-commercial product advancement and data quality goals.

Qualifications


Qualifications - What You'll Bring: 

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in agricultural/biological sciences, or in safety engineering, industrial engineering, occupational safety and health, or other closely related field.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to initiate projects, make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity or interest in farm equipment and agriculture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at using standard software programs and learning internal data systems.
  • Flexibility to work extended days and weekends at critical times of the season. 
  • Physical lifting and working in varying environments could be required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
