YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Regional Automation Engineer - Sr, are to: 

 

  • Conceive, design, install, start up and commission medium to large scale automation/control improvement projects;
  •  Support medium to large scale capital projects implemented at sites;
  • Mentor Automation tech to lead and drive PLC, HMI programming and IT management efforts at sites;
  • Grow and design company core logic, standard HMI logic, IT process control network;
  • Become an expert with site production and control system needs and provide technical support across sites/crops;
  • Monitor/trend, identify, and develop solutions to control systems;
  • Learn critical process equipment to resolve problems in a timely manner;
  • Collaborate with other automation engineers to ensure strong network and alignment on approaches and standardized systems;
  • Lead technical committees focused within automation;
  • Lead strategic solutions for North America Row Crop Automation projects;
  • Develop documentation for standards and strategic initiatives across sites/crops;
  • Provides mentorship across sites for Automation Technicians;
  • Primary focus for this role will be to support cotton operations in Lubbock, TX and Eloy, AZ locations.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable Technology with at least six year’s experience, or 10 years of practical experience such as knowledge derived from Automation Technician role at Bayer production plants;
  • Good Analytical and problem solving (decision making) skills;
  • Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies internally and externally, including leadership;
  • Good organizational and presentation skills at a leadership level;
  • Good interpersonal skills such as communication, listening, verbal and assertiveness with ability to influence;
  • Results driven with ability to manage ambiguity;
  • Travel Requirement 50% is expected within region and limited globally;
  • Hybrid work model options available.
