R&D Spec II - High Throughput Protein Production 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Spec II - High Throughput Protein Production are to:

 

  • Share or make primary the responsibility for a specialized laboratory technology;
  • Maintain proper records and documentation;
  • Conduct complex activities that require the application of specialized scientific techniques;
  • Take initiative in keeping current with developments in specialized area;
  • Express recombinant proteins using a variety of expression systems;
  • Protein purification and/or sample preparation of expressed protein using automation;
  • Deliver results in a timely fashion;
  • Manage inventory and perform lab management tasks.

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Master of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Protein Biochemistry or a related field with minimum years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor of Science with at least two years in relevant Biology, Chemistry, Protein Biochemistry or a related field; or if Non degreed 10 years relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in the area of protein expression and purification;
  • Proficient with LIMS usage;
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team-based environment;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Experience with automation equipment preferred.
