Corteva Agriscience is searching for a Product Line Architect (PLA). The PLA will partner with their Global Business Product Owner peers, along with the Product Family Architects, to shape and drive forward the IT product portfolio needs of our business partners.  This includes decisions toward best of breed technologies and practices that will meet the diverse and changing needs of a global customers and seed operations community.  The role will also be responsible to build out a talented and diverse set of architecture practices and patterns in line with Corteva’s enterprise architecture guidelines.

  • Business IQ: broad knowledge and understanding of the business and IT implications; growing knowledge of the business capabilities and outcomes for their product families.
  • Technical IQ: cloud computing principles with focus on Azure technology stack; broad knowledge of solution architecture items such as application, data, integration, etc.; growing knowledge of the technologies and services for their product families.
  • Domain IQ: knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles, processes, and frameworks; software development lifecycle (SDLC); security and compliance principles and standards.
  • Strategic partnering: building credibility, leading by influence and partnerships across the organization.
  • Communications: excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities - How you will help Corteva grow!

  • Leads planning and execution of technical lifecycle within the Product Line with IT POs and PFAs.
  • Engages with the BSA Leader, IT Product Owner, and the IT Business Relationship Managers on new demand request reviews, technical solutions/evaluations and POC needs for the product line.
  • Maintains consistency of architectural principles across systems and applications by working with PFAs, SAs and ITPOs.
  • As a member of EA, supports broader architecture governance including EA standard creation, modification, and regulation.
  • Ensures alignment of product roadmaps through PFAs and SAs; includes alignment with technology roadmap and product family/line folios.
  • Sets high level technical architecture for product line solutions and aids in determining when deviation is required.
  • Advises Product Line on required or recommended Technical Excellence work.
  • Champions improvements of architecture, engineering, and technical practices.
  • Participates in EA community for solution review and guidance across all Product Lines.
  • Engages with teams and vendors on solution evaluations (SaaS and non-SaaS) and purchase recommendations.
  • Enables product line teams by guiding new solutions (purchased and developed) for the Product Line PFAs and SAs through EA, Privacy, and Security reviews.
  • Works on behalf of Corteva Security organization to drive new process and standards into the Product Line.
  • Owns the Product Line solution and technology “tool kit” .
  • Works with PFAs and SAs to optimize and standardize the Product Line tools and technologies based on info from EA in the tech radar and enterprise architecture lifecycle.
  • Mentors Product Family Architects and Solution Architects.
  • Escalates issues and resolves organizational or technical problems as needed for the Product Line.
  • Brings ideas from other EA, Product Lines, and industry to the PFAs and SAs for evaluation and implementation.
  • Works with peers and IT management to develop and maintain policies, standards, guidelines (guiding principles), reference architectures / patterns, decision frameworks and metrics to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company.

Qualifications


Job Requirements - What you bring to the table!

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and deploying architecture for customer facing digital marketing, e-Commerce, and or CRM tools and capabilities to a diverse set of personas or customers across a global user base.
  • 10+ years of IT and business experience with increasing levels of leadership responsibility.
  • 5+ years leading an IT team or architecture community, including creating strategy and managing budgets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills, with an ability to become familiar with Corteva-specific programs and software.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
  • Possess a high degree of initiative to take independent action and be able to exercise proper judgement at all times.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Detail oriented, and able to consistently produce high quality, accurate work and results.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and strict time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred

  • 3-5 years experience in design and deploy of digital capabilities and architecture in an Agriscience or adjacent industry.
  • Experience in design thinking or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with deployment of SAAS, IAAS or Cloud Computing,
  • Design and Deploy of API and Microservices in a global architecture.
  • Experience in developing large scale funding and deployment plans.
  • Experience with SAFe and Product Management at Scale strategies.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris).
  • Experience with data migrations and integrations with enterprise-level applications.
  • Experience with business capability mapping, and\or value stream management.
