About Us

In this role you will Lead the North American Packaging group responsible for the development of novel packaging components and systems, Develop and lead a Global Packaging Strategy which encompasses packaging innovation, new technology development, and career and technical development, Globally coordinate and align regional packaging teams in support of the global strategy and represent packaging on the global Product Technology and Engineering leadership team.
Accountabilities
Ensure Safety as the highest priority and team alignment to Syngenta’s Goal Zero ambition. Ensure new product introductions in pack and filling systems meet performance, quality, and regulatory compliance objectives Provide production and customer stewardship for packaging in partnership with Production, Procurement, Quality and other technology functions Manage the recruitment, training, performance management, and career development of the NA Packaging Engineering team Globally coordinate the other regional Packaging teams to leverage best practice in packaging technology and new packaging introductions Partner and collaborate with regional and global production and supply teams as well as external packaging suppliers to sustain ongoing operations and deliver new change and innovation programs Drive continuous improvement of packaging development and related processes Drive development of new technologies including providing leadership for smart manufacturing in fill & pack operations Develop high quality packaging solutions for Syngenta’s crop protection product pipeline
Requirements
All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. A degree in packaging engineering or a related science and engineering field with significant 8+ years packaging technical and leadership experience in chemical or related industries personal care, consumer, etc. Knowledge of solid, gel and liquid packaging products and technologies
Proven team leadership skills 8+ years’ experience in a leadership and technical position in the packaging development and filling & packing areas Continuous improvement mindset Experience working in cross-functional organizations, leading in a dynamic and uncertain environment to ensure effective and focused project deliveries on time and in budget.
