Role Purpose

    The operations seeds processing manager will be supervising all activities related to seed processing for the corn trait Introgression TI project.  He or she will lead the seeds processing team  with a focus on consistent, reliable and timely delivery of TI corn R&D seeds.    Also, to maintain local seed inventory under compliance and to deliver frequent inventory reports to local leadership.   The timely completion of processing activities including data entry, KPIs and specifications is key in this role.   The ideal candidate will be capable of  sustaining the operation flow under best productivity practice as well as to  communicate and work to resolve issues within broader operational team.

Accountabilities:

•    Lead a group of technicians and coordinate all tasks related to seed processing like drying, shelling and inventory.

•    Timely collect, enter, track, and communicate KPIs

•    Organize all seed requests and shipping.  .

•    Collaborate with other team members to adopt best operational practices.

•    To maintain seed inventory and promptly discard, inventoried or ship seed as needed under required standards and regulations.

•    To execute R&D trial fulfilment for current projects and to request seed as needed.

•    To communicate timely any issues causing delay or potential damage to the seed.

•    To communicate effectively and regularly with peers and operational stakeholders regarding project status, planned and completed work activities, and supply input needs,

•    Support other Corn TI operational activities and tasks as needed

•    Operate  under Lean Sig Sigma principles. 

•    Be part of the world class safety culture and support safety initiatives.

Requirements

    Minimum 1-year experience in an agricultural research setting. Bachelor’s Degree required in the following Biology, Industrial Engineering or Plant Sciences Basic knowledge of Plant Biology and seed handling. Basic knowledge Lean Sig Sigma or Continues Improvement Results oriented and driven to deliver high quality seed Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Relentless focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence, with the ability and motivation to learn, experiment with and deploy new technologies Outstanding communication skills tailored to diverse audiences Adherence to all company, state and governmental safety, stewardship and regulatory requirements to maintain our freedom to operate Experience as group leader highly preferred. Good computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and corporate software Basic Spanish language competency preferred Operates in a team setting Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
