To support that challenge, the Seeds Operations team is currently seeking a NA Seeds Lab Technician in Slater, IA. You will help shape the future of agriculture by: • Drive lab data management; collection and analysis. • Participate in the regional teams such as, Reliance SNOW team, use acceptance testing, and user key for the Fiori/SAP systems. • Help track robust KPI’s to effect continuous improvement in laboratory operations. • Provide data support and training for sampling and testing activities performed at production sites. • Produce high quality seeds testing results by executing tasks as assigned by Lab Management. • Manage lab operations, sample receiving and testing equipment to ensure that all seed is properly handled and tested so that accurate seed quality results will be completed within assigned timelines. • Organize, perform, and lead in assigned areas to ensure all required processes, procedures and requirements are met.
Accountabilities
• Be personally committed and accountable in support of our HSE goal zero initiative. • Support incorporation of the Seeds Quality Framework and continuous improvement principles into Quality Control operations. • Accurately interpret and report data. • Provide proper supervision for seasonal staff while conducting testing and analyzing data. • Foster an inclusive laboratory culture that allows everyone to learn and contribute to the lab success. • Follow all legal and corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines. • Assist with functional presentations and tours. • Participate in internal continuous improvement efforts. • Assist with Reliance documentation of tests conducted. • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Must be High School graduate or GED equivalent. • B.A. or B.S. degree in science, agriculture, or related; or A.A. and 2+ years relevant work experience, or 3+ years work experience preferred. • Knowledge or agriculture and/or experience in the seed industry. • Prefer RST Registered Seed Technologist and/or RGT Registered Genetic Technologist or willingness to work towards these certificates. • Strong data science experience. • Ability to work with various diverse cultures and work habits. • Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
