*This position is able to reside in The Yuma Valley of Arizona, The Imperial Valley and Coachella Valley of Southern CA*

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role Market Development Rep III are to:

 

  • Collaborates and develops a knowledge exchange strategy to provide customers with timely insights to enhance their confidence in our products and integrated solutions for the business area;
  • Develops, executes and continuously improves a strategic plan for their respective area, aligned with commercial objectives, that increases sales rep and dealer/ distributor effectiveness, grows customer engagement, and ultimately increases market share and profitability;
  • Initiate relationships with area industry experts to strengthen product recommendations and provide solutions to our customers & business partners;
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with influencers & decision makers (internally and externally), being recognized as a reference throughout the agriculture and technology industry as providing solutions beyond advancements in genetic gain;
  • Collaborates with Market Development Representative (MDR), Research & Development (R&D), Sales/Marketing to document area market insights that drive business decisions;
  • Communicate with R&D/Sales/Marketing to evaluate and prioritize customer with business opportunities for area integrated & tailored solutions, knowledge transfer and demand creation;
  • Use overall understanding of market potential, competition, key trends, research and emerging market trends to be an area industry expert;
  • Actively works with internal partners (Sales, R&D & Marketing across geographies) to establish performance targets that improve product performance and competitiveness;
  • Leverage and trains others on the use of digital tools and technologies to offer customer focused solutions with enhance dealers and partners capabilities;
  • Generate high quality data and insights to strengthen the company’s understanding of our customer needs, product performance, and/or integrated & tailored solutions;
  • Influences cross-functional decisions achieve area business success;
  • Manage area business complexity by leveraging the experience and knowledge of peers in different geographies, cultures and functions;
  • Mentor and Leads MDR/Sales/Marketing to identify and understand our product performance knowledge gaps ensuring we offer best in class service to our customers and business partners;
  • Coordinate and Conducts field-based applied research across diverse crops to drive product placement and integrated & tailored solutions under area farming conditions;
  • Provide timely completion of projects; uses appropriate scientifically rigorous methods, ensures data integrity, analysis and communication of results;
  • Provide practical recommendations to enhance product performance under varied production environments.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or PhD degree in Plant Sciences or Agribusiness (agronomy, plant pathology, weed sciences or closely related discipline) with B.S. (Seven years), M.S. (Four years) and PhD (Three years) experience in the agricultural industry (product development, agricultural consulting, agricultural production, research);
  • Agronomic knowledge of vegetable crop production;
  • Highly analytical with the ability to convert data into practical knowledge and solutions for growers;
  • Demonstration of strong customer focus and sales orientation;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment;
  • Self-motivate and assertive with result orientation;
  • Willingness to travel extensively in the national or international market development territory and occasional national.
