Mechanical Designer 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Mechanical Designer, are to: 

• Develop the design and drafting of moderately complex piping (process and utility) drawings given basic information such as P&ID’s, GA’s, piping specifications, equipment drawings, etc.;
• Perform field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with project personnel and assist in construction;
• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) from piping drawings;
• Draft of P&ID’s and GA’s utilizing both MicroStation and AutoCAD;
• Plan and manage your site design activities for optimum results;
• Manage up to 20 different drafting projects in parallel is not uncommon;
• Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting with four years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical drafting and design within a chemical plant, refinery or other industry / service with similar mechanical design relevance;
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD;
• Proficiency with MS Office products;
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
• Extreme attention to detail;
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines;
• Strong commitment to safety;
• Results Driven / Self Motivated;
• Excellent presentation and organization skills.
