Maintenance Technician- 2nd shift 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Position is 2nd shift Monday - Friday from noon-9pm, ideal candidate must be flexible. Must be able to train Monday - Friday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Maintenance Technician, are to:

 

  • Be an active participant in our environmental safety health program, organize, schedule and complete routine and preventative maintenance for onsite equipment;
  • Operate equipment (when applicable) during seasonal peak periods, work with other groups within the company to develop consistency and cost savings;
  • Become familiar with systems and diagnose issues related to equipment involved with high-throughput DNA extraction, genotyping, and sequencing, identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing laboratory equipment, utilizes a computer maintenance management system (CMMS) to timely document and track completed work tasks, record labor hours, and parts and responsible for maintaining accurate records of assets in the CMMS database;
  • Be responsible for managing appropriate use and replenishment of spare parts inventory;
  • Develop, document and perform internal quality repair testing procedures;
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance in accordance with performance targets;
  • Maintain compliance with all HSE policies and ensures a safe working environment for all colleagues;
  • Be able to assist with the relocation, deployment, or installation of new and established equipment;
  • Be a liaison between equipment vendor and end-user to translate technical specifications and description of the problem to facilitate advanced repairs;
  • Perform regular inspections of high use equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values. more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • With at least two years Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical training, or experience in; engineering, mechanical systems, electronics, robotics, automation systems;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills;

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Experience working with CMMS;
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) Experience working with laboratory equipment and personnel;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Familiar with TPM and LEAN methodology.
