Global Product Chemistry Manager 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global PCM, are to: 

 

  • Coordinate, prepare and supply the GRMs, RRMs and CRMs with the Product Chemistry parts of the dossiers and all documentation necessary for registration (ASs, PPPs, formulants);
  • Provide adapted support to specific requirements, including reply to questions from the regulatory authorities (statements, expert judgments, and summaries for additional requirements) and to contact authorities for product registration/defenses when needed;
  • Coordinate/prepare bridging or comparison statements including tox, eco-tox and classification input;
  • Participate to the definition of the Product Chemistry program/budget for the Regulatory Affairs in order to meet global and regional registration objectives in her/his portfolio responsibility;
  • Set priorities serving the best way for global and regional projects in order to contribute to shorten time to market in her/his portfolio;
  • Negotiate with Product Supply (PS), to propose, check and release on behalf of Regulatory Affairs all specifications and to contribute to an efficient portfolio streamlining;
  • Act, guide and to give advice on behalf of Regulatory Affairs in internal and/or external projects, committees, task forces (internal and external) when it comes to discussions of Product Chemistry subjects;
  • Identify, define and integrate common standards, rules, national and international requirements for all Product Chemistry tasks including the best way to carry out the Product Chemistry studies for the registration of active substances and formulations on a worldwide basis in close contact with the experts from the relevant functions;
  • Organize, prepare, and give training in the Product Chemistry area;
  • Keep close contact within the company with Regulatory Community (GRMs, RRMs, CRMs), Marketing, and Product Supply (QHSE, Packaging, MOC team, MDM, FSG, AISS, Process Development), expert functions in Development/Regulatory Science (Formulation Technology, Toxicology, Eco-toxicology) and in Research (Research Technologies, Process Research);
  • Achieve regulatory compliance/integrity, to obtain a short time to market and maximum flexibility for her/his portfolio responsibility;
  • Represent Bayer’s interests on governmental work groups and influence decisions in favor for the industry needs by building close relationships within the industry as well with authority representatives;
  • Be in contact within governmental experts on solving issues when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • An academic education on a level equivalent to Ph. D., completed by a professional experience of at least 10 years in the fields of organic chemistry, product analysis, formulation analysis and/or development;
  • A good knowledge of production procedures of active substances and formulations;
  • Generally, a very profound knowledge on regulations and guidelines worldwide, particularly for the field of special expertise (e.g. formulants, regional coordination, ES, change management);
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment;
  • Cross functional thinking and negotiation skills and communication skills;
  • Ability to follow multiple and parallel activities. Organization skills;
  • Experience in the agrochemical industry and/or in Regulatory Affairs is necessary;
  • A good knowledge on the data management is needed;
  • English is the official working language.
