Formulation Development Laboratory Lead 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Formulation Development Laboratory Lead, are to:

 

  • Design and develop formulations meeting defined development objectives (regarding biological performance, application requirements, manufacturing needs, regulatory boundaries, and commercial targets) within agreed timelines in best possible quality;
  • Supervise a team of formulation scientists;
  • Define a team and individual objectives for the team members, monitor the performance, evaluate quality and conformity of FT work;
  • Develop required leadership, technical, communication and business critical skills of each team member;
  • Foster an environment that stimulates creativity and innovation;
  • Identify and drive the assessment and development of new & innovative formulation technologies and approaches;
  • Maintain the business-critical direct interface and alignment with global functions while actively participates and contributes to project teams where project timelines are agreed while status is effectively communicated;
  • Coordinate GLP product chemistry generation and EPA submission documents on assigned projects;
  • Assist in the efficient transfer from the lab to production;
  • Ensure that the team works within the global framework to leverage global FT processes;
  • Assure the safe, clean, and orderly conduct of operations in the laboratories in line with federal, state, local regulations, and in accordance with corporate policies.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, physical chemistry, engineering, or other relevant field with at least four years of professional experience in formulation development OR M.S. in chemistry, physical chemistry, engineering, or other relevant field with at least eight years of professional experience in formulation development OR B.S. in chemistry, physical chemistry, engineering, or other relevant field with at least ten years of professional experience in formulation development;
  • Excellent understanding of pesticide formulations, R&D processes and capabilities including required product testing, registration, and commercial development;
  • Ability to innovate, including independent and team-based problem solving, generation of new ideas, and application of ideas to company goals;
  • Able to access and utilize technical data management tools;
  • Knowledge of the financial implications of formulation, project management and biological effect of formulation variables; 
  • Excellent communication (verbal / written) and leadership skills.

 

 

 

Relocation may be offered for this role.
