Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a U.S. Federal Government Affairs Manager to join our team in Washington, DC. 

The U.S. Federal Government Affairs Manager’s primary focus is to manage, support, and implement the U.S. government affairs strategy at the federal level by lobbying members of Congress, congressional staff and appropriate federal agencies. The Manager will oversee biotechnology policy engagement and provide background research, draft policy documents and participate in advocacy strategy setting. The individual will also distribute information to Congress, the administration and Corteva Agriscience leadership as it relates to Corteva’s key legislative and administrative priorities. This individual will represent Corteva Agriscience with external organizations, trade associations and industry partners in Washington, DC and across the country.

  • Support and implement U.S. Federal Government and Industry Affairs strategy to advance key legislative and administrative priorities in the seed, crop protection and digital agriculture space.
  • Lobby members of Congress, congressional staff and federal agencies.
  • Assist with establishing and enhancing relationships with Congressional members and staff.
  • Research and prepare policy analysis on key policy issues.
  • Draft internal and external policy positions and other government affairs communication materials.
  • Prepare timely issue updates to Corteva Agriscience leadership and conduct research for background facts, history and data.
  • Represent Corteva Agriscience at external meetings with trade associations, industry partners and coalitions.
  • Coordinate and communicate government affairs efforts to ensure alignment across federal team.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Government, Political Science, Agriculture, Business or equivalent required. Additional education is a plus.
  • 5-7 years experience required.
  • Relevant legislative experience and/or experience working with federal agencies’.
  • Prior experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategies.
  • Working knowledge of federal policy-making processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically, as needed.
