Role Purpose
Manage engineering capital projects ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with rapidly changing business requirements and within agreed cost, schedule, and safety parameters. Provide expert advice and direction to others by the timely application of technical and/or project management professionalism at key points in the project process.
For this role, we are specifically seeking candidates with an electrical engineering background or extensive demonstrated experience in design and management of Controls & Electrical engineering projects. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of the realization of engineering projects from design and strong personal drive to create the edge and momentum required to drive accelerated project implementation.
Accountabilities
Manage Electrical and Controls engineering capital projects ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with rapidly changing business requirements and within agreed cost, schedule, and safety parameters. Define, estimate, deliver capital projects; track the costs and physical progress of individual capital projects to meet key project milestones and deliver agreed scope within challenging time constraints and within agreed cost and safety parameters Implement innovative, cost effective project engineering solutions through optimized execution strategy, integrated teams, internal/external benchmarking, and use of internal/external resources and vendors Ensure all C&E design and equipment installations/refurbishments on the St. Gabriel site are following NFPA, NEMA, NEC, etc.000000 and Syngenta standards/ regulations. Set success criteria for projects; formulate and deliver project execution strategies ensuring successful delivery of the project through a project team e.g., Syngenta staff, the design and construction contractors and equipment suppliers. Ensure engineering designs comply with best practice standards, current and future legislative requirements, and Syngenta HSE guidelines
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited school Substantial knowledge and experience in the specialist areas: hazardous electrical area classifications, MV/LV electrical systems, SIS, etc. Ability to form and manage teams and develop team members to tackle challenging targets and to achieve those goals with limited resources and tight timelines. 15+ years of experience in a direct manufacturing Electrical Engineering role. Chemical/Refinery maintenance and/or project experience Engineering/ project delivery preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. as well as PDF editors Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, etc.
Preferred Requirements
Project Management Professional PMP certification not required, but considered a plus Demonstrated proficiency with SAP or similar ERP system as well as SAP Ariba strongly preferred Strong concern for maintaining HSE and Syngenta standards and technical integrity while under pressure to meet challenging targets and tight timelines Ability to manage numerous projects in various stages of development Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience of engineering project delivery
