Digital Pipeline Lead Gene Edit & Innovation 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Digital Pipeline Lead Gene Edit & Innovation, are to:

 

  • Drive Plant Biotech Gene Editing and pipeline innovation digital strategies and roadmap development;
  • Lead multi-discipline, highly-matrixed project teams by setting goals and milestones, coordinating the work of others, establishing and tracking progress, driving results, and identifying risks or potential impacts to the business;
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary scientists and leaders across Biotech, Research and Development (R&D) partners, third-party collaborators, and IT to carry out the digital strategy and enable new technologies, including gene/genome editing, in the pipeline;
  • Collaborate to prioritize, develop, test, and ensure proper support of new digital capabilities and IT assets;
  • Demonstrate technology expertise and know-how in IT and R&D pipeline to solve novel challenges and identify improvements to existing processes through modern digital infrastructure and analytics solutions;
  • Be accountable for the timely delivery and user acceptance of digital capabilities, requiring close partnership and aligned strategy and planning with IT and Business partners;
  • Prepare written materials and oral presentations, providing technical and business recommendations to appropriate peer, stakeholder, and leadership groups;
  • Participate as a member of the Data Science & Analytics extended Leadership team and as a member of the data science community to share best practices and methodology.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • A Ph.D. with four or more years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with six or more years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of relevant experience in Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field is required;
  • Must have experience with digital project management and collaboration with data scientists, data engineers, and/or enterprise IT;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Plant Biotechnology laboratory processes or equivalent is a must;
  • Must have a working understanding of the IT product pipeline and/or a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS);
  • Must be skilled in project management, strategic thinking and leadership, and change management;
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to influence decisions leveraging cross-functional business relationships and overcoming ambiguity to drive results;
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize complex concepts to people outside the discipline.
