YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Data Scientist Co-op, are to:

 

  • Collaborate with scientists to understand experimental workflows and data sources;
  • Create reports and dashboards from a versatility of data to enable discovery of novel insights for business stakeholders and use the outputs of the Data Scientists in operative business;
  • Translate project teams requests into practical data products by exploring multiple potential solutions and identifies an option that maximizes value across the organization;
  • Integrate and automate data flow between LIMS, databases, using scripting (Python, R, JavaScript) and visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Spotfire;
  • Communicate progress regularly to collaborators. Leverages mentors, manager and coaches to understand opportunities and proposes solutions for implementation;
  • Exercise significant autonomy in designing projects and priorities.

Required qualifications:

 

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in progress, in data science, computer science or a related field;
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms and data preparation tools for creating visual products, i.e. dashboards, digital reports;
  • Proficient with data visualization tools, scripting (R, Python, JavaScript);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Strong innovation and collaboration skills.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Spotfire knowledge.
