To support that challenge, the Engineering team is currently seeking a Project Engineer at our Omaha, NE location.  You will lead the technical aspects of capital projects or parts of larger capital projects under the direction of the Engineering Project Manager.

 

You will manage capital projects up to $1,000,000. This role requires hands-on involvement in the entire project lifecycle concept through commissioning.

 

Accountabilities

Familiarity with chemical production plants and processes including:

    Civil and mechanical issues Infrastructure electrical, gas, water Automation and PLC control of processes Sizing of pumps and piping systems Basic chemical process engineering and front end development of simple chemical process equipment pumps, agitators, tanks, etc

Project management skills including:

    Stakeholder management Concept development, scope definition, and project justification Design and specification RFP document development Cost estimation and cost management Equipment and labor procurement Schedule management to meet tight deadlines Risk management Construction management and contractor supervision Construction site safety Commissioning and handover


Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred A minimum of 3 years experience with technical responsibility for capital projects and managing capital projects in a production environment 5 + years preferred

    Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with and influence colleagues at all levels, and operate effectively in a matrix organization with little direct supervision Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders Assertive, but flexible and diplomatic Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to form and work with cross-functional teams Ability to be “hands-on”, but with the ability to direct and supervise
