Associate Nursery Manager 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Nursery Manager, are to:

 

This role can be located at our Tucson/ Marana, AZ, Kunia, HI or Kihei HI sites as well as a provide a flexible work environment.

 

  • Apply defined scientific principles to design, conduct and interpret complex experiments;
  • Partner with plant breeders and agronomic research scientists;
  • Use modern statistics methods;
  • Structure plantings in greenhouse and field genetics nurseries in Arizona and Hawaii;
  • Effectively communicate research findings;
  • Analyze and interpret operational and biological data;
  • Work with stakeholders across functions to understand what KPIs are important;
  • Enable scheduled reporting and monitoring of nursery processes;
  • Prepare mockups, reports, analysis and presentations;
  • Communicate frequently with stakeholders on and off-site.

Required qualifications:

 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams;
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; partner with key stakeholders on solutions;
  • Results orientated with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously;
  • Be familiar with modern breeding methodologies, including genotyping and bioassays;
  • Experience with large data sets;
  • Ability to travel less than 10%;
  • Prior experience working in Life Science R&D;
  • Excellent Excel skills.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Background in Agronomy, Data Science, Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Experimental Design, Statistical Analysis, Engineering, or related fields;
  • Experience in breeding nursery or greenhouse operations;
  • Experience with manufacturing, automation or related disciplines;
  • Experience developing visualizations with advanced tools (Tibco, SpotFire, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

 

Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
