We’re hiring for a Regional Sales Manager. You will be responsible for the commercial success of the region assigned to you. This will include taking responsibility for forecasting, supply and sales in the region, account management and management of the sales team appointed in the region.

You Will Be Part of a Growing Team 

You will manage a sales team of Technical Sales Representatives (TSRs) whose primary customer interaction is with crop advisors affiliated to distributor companies. While the approach to the market is growing the business through demand generation, TSRs also have commercial goals managed through their Territory Action Plans. You will be responsible for commercial interaction with management and buyers of distributors.

Your Challenge:

  • Subscribe to and strengthen the Corteva Purpose and Values in the team; Live Safely; Be Curious; Be Upstanding; Stand Tall.
  • Commercial management: planning and executing a commercial action plan for the assigned region
  • Sales: ensuring the attainment of monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Account management: 
    • Responsible for managing accounts for the Southern Region of South Africa
    • There may be the responsibility for the management of one or more national accounts in collaboration with the Northern Regional Sales Manager
    • Ensuring good market penetration by utilizing effective go-to-market strategies
    • Establish strategic relationships with key accounts, ensuring constructive collaboration on launching of new projects and sustainable support on off-patent products
    • Managing short and long term commercial growth objectives with customers
  • Operational excellence: collaborate with Supply Chain and Customer Service organizations to ensure timeous supply and efficient order-to-cash processes.
  • Forecasting: maintain and find ways to improve forecasting accuracy by securing customers forecasts.
  • Marketing collaboration:
    • Play an active part in the efficient operation of Local Product Concept Teams (LPCTs) to maintain efficient portfolio management.
    • Serve as Customer Representative in the LPCTs – ensure that customer perspective is included in portfolio strategies.
    • Portfolio support: understand and participate in the effective commercial and technical positioning of the Corteva product portfolio.
    • Market awareness: collaborate in collecting and establishing market data, including product potential and penetration, customer market share and potential, growth segments.
  • Sales effectiveness: manage, support and collaborate in building and maintaining customer relationship management capacity such as Salesforce.
  • Lead the development, revision and maintenance of annual Territory Action Plans and reporting against objectives by the sales team.
  • Lead a continuous, structured people development process based on development needs analyses for individuals and the team reporting to you.
  • Maintain and strengthen working relationships with key role players in the crop production industries of the region.
  • Play an oversight role during complaints investigation, managing customer relations whereas the owners of complaints are TSRs.
  • Health & safety: entrench a culture of safe behaviour in the workspace and during travelling.

Qualifications


To Grow What Matters, You Will Need 

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Agriculture/Marketing/ Sales 
  • 6 years plus of sales / marketing / account management experience, preferably in the crop protection industry
  • A good understanding of the Southern Region crops, production and crop protection
