Our Seeds Agronomy team is currently seeking an Agronomist for NK Seed in North Carolina. As the NK Agronomist, you will implement the NK Brand strategy in your territory and provide intense local knowledge and agronomic expertise to address complex agricultural challenges.

 

You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

  • Being the product and technology expert for both corn and soybean seeds in the assigned commercial unit, both for Syngenta and competitive products
  • Leading product training process for employees and customers of NK Seeds
  • Evaluating experimental trials to aid in training the sales force on new product launches, and provide marketing input into product advancements
  • Providing input on production planning and portfolio, representing assigned district
  • Sharpening competitive intelligence on pricing and products
  • Supporting product-based campaign development in the district 
  • Providing localized and targeted product, technology and agronomic information and advice to District Manager, Sales Representatives, channel partners, customers, and prospects
  • Promoting Syngenta products at meetings, field days, and in customer meetings 
  • Supporting and coordinating plot locations and entries in the assigned area

Accountabilities

  • Obtain buy-in from Commercial Operations on local portfolio direction and strategies
  • Teach and develop the agronomic skills to Sales Representatives, Seed Account Managers and Seed Advisers
  • Call on customers with Sales Representatives and serve as a role model, teacher and coach to Sales Representatives and Seed Advisers
  • Act as Key interface with District and Campaign team
  • Partner with Sales Reps to plan strategies to effectively compete with competitor products
  • Continue to develop professionally by remaining current with new technologies, management innovations and sales management developments

Preferred cities: Greensboro, Raleigh, Durham, or Rocky Mount North Carolina

Requirements

 

    Bachelor of Science in Agronomy or related Agricultural field 2+ years’ of experience in Agronomy or sales as well as strong technical background 2+ years’ of experience in Research and Development role with strong understanding of sales and commercial aspects Significant technical knowledge of product portfolio, product pipeline and product value propositions Deep knowledge of the Seed industry

 

Preferred Requirements

 

    Basic understanding of marketing principles and techniques Understanding of statistical principals and data analysis Understanding of Agronomic theory – knowledge of farming best practices, seed technologies, crop protection Understanding of segmentation strategy and priorities 20% of work performed in a standard home office environment 80% of work performed in vehicle, at meetings and in field locations with employees, co-workers, customers and other associates
