Agronomic Research Specialist II (Inoculum Production) 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Agronomic Research Specialist II (Inoculum Production) are to:


  • Manage the Inoculum Production Lab team of contractors, oversee daily tasks, and identify opportunities to optimize workflow to ensure on time project completion;
  • Develop and deploy strategy for Plant Health pathogen culture collection;
  • Support morphological diagnostics;
  • Collaborate with project team members to establish decisions on priority, strategy, resources, and timeline;
  • Operate research equipment, note taking, data management with internal Information Technology (IT) systems, comply with regulated seed and pathogen stewardship standards, complete and participate in safety inspections, participate in trainings, and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures;




Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:


Required Qualifications:


  • Master's degree with 1 or more years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience which includes work experience or related education in Microbiology;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, diverse, multi-cultural, team-based environment;
  • Capable of maintaining large data sets;
  • Experience with both standard Microsoft Office software and software relevant to scientific data analysis;
  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools;
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons (including non-traditional day time hours with the potential of overnight travel);
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Relevant experience in Microbiology with fungi emphasis.


Domestic relocation may be available for this role.

Sponsorship may be available for this role.

Position will be based in Chesterfield, MO (St. Louis area).
